Itinerary
Day One
Start your day with a fresh cup of coffee and a hearty breakfast here at the Inn!
If you came to the Berkshires for the natural beauty, you’ll stay for the rich history. Our first
stop would be The Hancock Shaker Village, a living history museum that brings the Shaker story
to life. Visit the farms and gardens, the many historic buildings and even take a brookside hike.
From the late spring Baby Farm Animals through the Radiant Nights display during December,
you’ll find this to be one of the most delightful places to visit in the Berkshires.

Next drive to Olivia’s Overlook on your way to Lenox for magnificent views, hiking trails and
some awesome Instagram opportunities. Walk the town of Lenox, home to Tanglewood in the
Summer. Stop in to Najaime’s and put together a picnic basket of local cheeses, baguettes and
charcuterie to take to Tanglewood, you can also order ahead (413) 637-2221. Oenophiles will
want to head around the corner and peruse the unique Natural wines at Dare Bottle Shop.
Be sure to check out retail shops like MacKimmie Co. a home & lifestyle shop specializing in
imported textiles and the impressive Wilcox & Co. which has a remarkably well edited
collection of clothing and home goods.

Dine at some of our recommendations like Bistro Zinc , Frankies Italian or La Boema- a wood-
fired Neapolitan-style pizza joint in a century old barn.
Step into the Gilded Age and visit The Mount, which was the summertime retreat of the first
woman to win the Pulitzer Prize, Edith Wharton who penned “The Age of Innocence “and
“House of Mirth”. The 17,000 sq ft Mansion and its magnificent gardens sit on a 50-acre
public park. Pro Tip: some prefer walking the grounds and gardens for free rather than taking
the house tour. Others like to play Gatsby and sit on the veranda overlooking it all whilst
sipping wine...too Bougie? You decide!
If you have more time and want to go further afield, grab a porch rocker and a cocktail at the
250-year-old Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge and simply watch the world go by. Walk Great
Barrington, dropping in on fine stores such as One Mercantile or Hammertown.
If its Summer, circle back and bring your adventurous day to a crescendo on the beautiful
grounds of Tanglewood. Roll out your blanket, set up your picnic, light your candles and take in
the Boston Symphony, Yo Yo Ma or the many first rate musical performers that visit the area.

Day Two
You’ve got a big day ahead so enjoy breakfast at the Inn then hop in your car and set your GPS to The Clark Institute in Williamstown, Ma, home to Williams College. The Clark Brothers amassed an incredible collection of French Impressionism, in fact it’s the largest collection outside of the Louvre. Who knew?
Afterwards take a walk around this charming town. Browse the titles at Chapter Two Books and enjoy the fun vibe, great service and tasty sandwiches at Papa Charlies. Then head South towards Mt Greylock where on a clear day you can out look across 90 miles and three states. You can either drive or hike this majestic mount to the Veterans War Memorial Tower- standing on the highest point in Massachusetts at 3,491 feet above sea level — with a lighthouse at your shoulder.
There are many trails to hike on Mount Greylock so find the one that suits your level. Taking in those stunning views, you’ve likely built up an appetite. Head south toward the Inn until you hit Brodie Mountain Road which will take you to Jiminy Peak and Bluebird & Co. where you can enjoy outdoor seating and fine seasonal cuisine served in a cabin-like environment.
Day Three
Pour yourself a cup of freshly brewed coffee and share your adventures with the other guests
over a hot breakfast here at the Inn, then get ready... you’re going to Hudson, NY.
Start off by driving to the amazing Art Omi Pavillions, in nearby Chatham, NY, and spend an
hour or 2 walking the expansive grounds exploring the beautiful integration of sculpture,
architecture and landscape. If its lunchtime, head towards Hudson, stopping at Quinnie’s for a
quick bite. If you’re an art hound then go straight to one of the true gems of Columbia County,
Olana- the home of Fredrick Church, founder of the Hudson River School. (see our day trip to Olana info here!)

What a day! You must be parched!
Don’t be shy, stop in and grab a beer or two in the beer garden at Return Brewing in Hudson
THEN you’ll be prepared to hit Warren Street for some boutique retail and ultra pricey
antiques.
Pro Tip: go to the Antiques Warehouse for unique collections and friendlier prices.
Heading back towards the Inn, make dinner memorable and reserve at Klocke Estate or head
straight into nearby Chatham and enjoy some proper Hudson Valley Farm to Table at Bimi’s
Canteen; We suggest sitting downstairs in the elegant speakeasy. If these choices aren’t striking
a chord then head back home to the Inn and drop in on our friends at The Gnome for some
friendly service and always good food...tell them we said hi!
We hope you enjoyed your stay with us!
